چکیده
There is limited data on the fungal diversity in mangrove ecosystems Guyana. This study investigated during dry season three selected coastal along Corentyne Coast of East Berbice, Sampling was conducted within randomly established 50 m x plots containing 20 mini transects length 12.5 10 overwash ecosystem at each six sites locations. Samples retrieved from included leaf, bark, soil and fruiting bodies. These were placed into separate bags labelled appropriately. Environmental parameters recorded plot. Fruiting bodies used to identify macrofungal species, bark prepare cultures which microfungal samples identified. The species that identified compile a checklist indices calculated. A total thirty (30) recorded, nine (9) microfungi cultured twenty-one (21) sites. results further revealed an increase pH salinity decrease temperature resulted richness. Tidal activity also appeared reduce Aspergillus, Rhizopus Trichoderma dominant with high relative abundance. be some instances substrate specificity.

متن کاملGenetic diversity of Plasmodium vivax Pvcsp and Pvmsp1 in Guyana, South America.
Approximately 55% of malaria infections in the Guyana Amazon region are attributed to Plasmodium falciparum while the other 45% are attributed to non-falciparum, mostly Plasmodium vivax. However, little is known about the P. vivax strain types circulating in the region. Using PCR for Plasmodium detection and two genetic markers specific to P. vivax to detect the polymorphic circumsporozoite pro...
متن کاملFungal diversity in deep-sea hydrothermal ecosystems.
Deep-sea hydrothermal ecosystems are considered oases of life in oceans. Since the discovery of these ecosystems in the late 1970s, many endemic species of Bacteria, Archaea, and other organisms, such as annelids and crabs, have been described. Considerable knowledge has been acquired about the diversity of (micro)organisms in these ecosystems, but the diversity of fungi has not been studied to...
